Pax 3 (6 Leaves)
As I get older, I find myself searching for healthy-er smoke alternatives 🤔. Unfortunately, I’ve also come to the conclusion, I really enjoy smoking🤯. Everything from the feeling of the inhale to the cloud released on exhale it is a very cathartic experience. So how do you create that same feel without the added tar, heat and other negative effects associated with inhaling a lit substance. Enter the dry herb vape and for this review that is the Pax 3. No this is NOT an E-Juice vape that was the craze for a moment (though I do enjoy those as well). This unit allows you to take your dry flower (and/or concentrate using the oil cartridge available in the complete edition or as an additional accessory) place it into the units oven, add the lid, turn it on, let it heat up and inhale. Surprisingly enough, this does create a very “similar” experience and in my opinion a quicker hit (though it lasts less) all while still preserving those wonderful terpene flavors (at least for the first few hits). Now mind you this IS NOT an entry level vape in my eyes as it carries a hefty price tag. You could get away with a Planet of the Vapes One for way less and allegedly more flavor (more on that). Nor is it the greatest dry herb vape available (arguably the Mighty from Storz & Bickel). It is to me, that perfect medium. 🤯 That’s impossible you may say, considering both the lower and higher priced competitors create an arguably more consistent and flavorful vape. Still, the Pax 3 is no slouch in this department by far. It does (again “arguably”) fall short to these rivals. Not to open a can of worms though the major reason they differ is how they each vape your flower. Either Conduction, Convection and/or Hybrid. The Pax is a conduction vape and overcomes its issues with an ease of use, stylish design, extreme portability and efficient functionality unmatched. Now it can be argued that the POV1 is smaller and just as stealthy. The POV1 must also be accompanied by stems or mouthpiece attachments which then in my opinion make it a GREAT vape option but a pain to assemble, load, use and disassemble. As you have to keep the parts (some glass) clean or safe from damage. The Pax on the other hand just slips in your pocket, bag or carry pouch without issue. Unless you want to bring a long the accessories which is not necessarily needed (Unless you want to change to the oil cart). Now as for the Mighty it is just as the name states. It’s larger, cost more and like the POV1 requires an arguably longer setup than the Pax. So now can you see why the Pax is still such a contender. It just consistently works. I stuff it before leaving the house and with a few hits here and there It holds me down. To fill it on the go is easy as empty, refill, tamp down and close. No more issue then rolling one. So yes I definitely recommend the Pax 3 if it’s financially an option. Or you can also get the same experience with the less expensive Pax 2 that functions the same minus the oil insert and app connection. Yes I did say app connection. The Pax 3 does have a very usable companion app. Unfortunately since everything vaping has been connected, this app no longer exists on the Apple App Store as they don’t allow vape related apps. Yet Pax found away. You can now download a 3rd party app (Connect Browser) visit there website through the app and connect your device for the same experience (minus having to reconnect to the app periodically). This along with 3 playable games keeps the Pax 3 entertaining and a great carry on vape.
